Greater Pasadena Officers for 2022-23
President - John Spencer
Treasurer - Nancy Schrum
Secretary - Annie Sanford
Here is a presentation we gave on why you and your community should join the GPC:
HISTORY
In 1975 the original Greater Mountain Road Council was formed primarily to address issues of importance to residents along Mountain Road. That Council eventually evolved into the Greater Pasadena Council (GPC). In 1983 GPC expanded to include the entire peninsula. There were 40 neighborhoods represented in this umbrella organization that focused on civic issues. In 2011 GPC participation decrease to just a few officers and therefore the vote was taken to disband. We are currently rebuilding our membership. Lots of improvements coming.
MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of the Greater Pasadena Council is to serve to unify the voices of Pasadena area residents, resulting in desired changes in environmental, educational, and legislative processes that affect the Pasadena peninsula
PROJECT BASED
The GPC method to accomplish it's goals is to be very project based. Projects can be proposed by any GPC member at the general membership meetings. That proposed project will need to be seconded, discussed and then voted upon. Each project will also require a project manager who will be responsible to research the components of the proposed project including such things as design, cost, location, fund raising ideas, etc.
